Baywood Park and Enchanted Hills San Mateo Homes and Neighborhood Guide
San Mateo neighborhood guideUnincorporated San Mateo County
Baywood Park and Enchanted Hills are wooded hillside streets west of Parrott Drive, above the city of San Mateo. This is unincorporated San Mateo County land with a San Mateo mailing address, so the county, not the city, handles planning, zoning and many local services. Homes here tend to be larger and sit on sloping, tree covered lots. Streets wind through the trees.
Baywood Park became its own census designated place in 2020, split from the former Highlands-Baywood Park area. The county runs the Enchanted Hills Drainage Maintenance District, formed in 1959, for the part of Baywood between Polhemus Road and Parrott Drive. The College of San Mateo and the San Mateo Highlands are close neighbors. Highway 92 and Crystal Springs Road are close by for trips in either direction.
