Burlingame Hills Homes and Neighborhood Guide

Burlingame neighborhood guideUnincorporated San Mateo County

Burlingame Hills is a hillside area toward Interstate 280, bordering Hillsborough. Roughly half of its 2,800 residents and 850 homes are inside Burlingame city limits, and about half are on unincorporated San Mateo County land that carries a Burlingame mailing address. In the unincorporated part, local services come from the county rather than the city, and sewer service is provided through the county's Burlingame Hills Sewer Maintenance District.

The Burlingame Hills Improvement Association has served the area since 1959. Streets wind along the slopes with wooded surroundings, and some homes look out over canyons. Hoover Elementary on Summit Drive, built in 1931, reopened in 2016 after a full renovation. The Mills Canyon trails and Interstate 280 are both close by.
