Aragon San Mateo Homes and Neighborhood Guide

San Mateo neighborhood guide

Aragon is a residential neighborhood in central San Mateo, between El Camino Real and Alameda de las Pulgas. Much of it sits on land that was once the C. W. Clark estate, which was later annexed by the city and subdivided as Aragon. Aragon High School, on Alameda de las Pulgas, takes its name from the same area. Before the subdivision, the estate area included a polo field.

The neighborhood is close to many daily needs. Borel Middle School and Borel Park are just to the south near Highway 92, Baywood Elementary is a short walk north, and Hayward Park Caltrain station and downtown San Mateo are a few minutes east. Bay Tree Park and Central Park are both a short drive north.
