Bair Island Redwood City Homes and Neighborhood Guide
Redwood City neighborhood guide
Bair Island is Redwood City's waterfront neighborhood, entirely east of Highway 101 between Whipple Avenue and Woodside Road. Redwood Creek splits it in two. The northern part holds most of the homes, set along Redwood Creek, Steinberger Slough and several small marinas. The neighborhood shares its name with the islands next door, though the islands themselves are protected wetlands outside it.
There are no single family homes here. Instead you'll find townhomes and apartments like One Marina, the Villas at Bair Island and Blu Harbor, built on the old Pete's Harbor site, along with a hotel, auto dealerships and the city's police station. Blu Harbor has a public launch ramp and a stretch of the Bay Trail. Next door, Bair Island itself covers more than 3,000 acres and is part of the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
Bair Island is shaded. Borders are approximate, see the Redwood City map for the full picture.
