Stambaugh Heller Redwood City Homes and Neighborhood Guide
Redwood City neighborhood guide
Stambaugh Heller is one of Redwood City's older neighborhoods, a rough rectangle between Highway 101, Woodside Road, El Camino Real and Maple Street. It takes its name from Stambaugh and Heller streets, opened in May 1861. Dr. Solomon Stambaugh was a pioneer physician who served as county coroner, and George Heller bought and sold land and ran a livery stable on Main Street. Downtown is right next door.
Commercial strips run along Broadway and Veterans Boulevard, with the Broadway Plaza shopping center near the freeway. Jardin de Niños park at Chestnut Street and Middlefield Road was rebuilt and is well kept, and the Main Street Dog Agility Park sees steady use. Each December a free walk through Bethlehem recreation has been staged at Middlefield Road and Cassia Street.
Stambaugh Heller is shaded. Borders are approximate, see the Redwood City map for the full picture.
