Burlingame Park Homes and Neighborhood Guide

Burlingame neighborhood guide

Burlingame Park is one of the town's earliest neighborhoods, laid out in the 1890s around the Burlingame Country Club, which opened in 1893. The club was meant to draw San Franciscans to the Peninsula, and the train depot at Burlingame Avenue was built in part to welcome its guests. A post office followed in 1894, making the Burlingame name official.

The neighborhood sits just south of Burlingame Avenue, toward the Hillsborough border. Its shady blocks hold many of the town's grand older homes. Pershing Park on Crescent Avenue has a playground and picnic area, and Heritage Park at Ralston and Occidental has a small picnic area. The shops and restaurants of Burlingame Avenue are a short walk away.
