Country Club Manor Hillsborough Homes and Neighborhood Guide
Hillsborough neighborhood guide
Country Club Manor wraps around the Burlingame Country Club in north Hillsborough. The club was founded on September 1, 1893, and is described as the first country club of its kind in California. Its clubhouse is New Place, the former country house of banker William H. Crocker and his wife, Ethel Sperry Crocker. Architect Lewis P. Hobart designed the house, built between 1912 and 1915, and Isabella Worn designed the landscape. The club itself is private.
Streets here include New Place Road, Country Club Drive and Geri Lane. The club's open grounds and mature trees shape the setting, and the roads curve rather than follow a grid, as is typical across Hillsborough. The area sits between the flats near Town Hall and the hills rising toward Skyfarm, so downtown Burlingame and El Camino Real are a short drive away. Interstate 280 is also close.
Country Club Manor is shaded. Borders are approximate, see the Hillsborough map for the full picture.
