Beresford Manor San Mateo Homes and Neighborhood Guide

San Mateo neighborhood guide

Beresford Manor covers residential streets south of Highway 92, between El Camino Real and Alameda de las Pulgas. The Beresford name goes back a long way here. Developer David Bohannon bought about 848 acres of the Beresford area in 1939 and 1940, land that later became known as Hillsdale. Today the streets are mostly single family homes on a regular pattern of blocks.

Beresford Park is close by, with a recreation center, tennis courts, bocce courts and a skate area. Beresford Elementary sits on West 28th Avenue. El Camino Real brings shops and restaurants within easy reach, and Hillsdale Shopping Center and the Bay Meadows town square are a short trip south and east. The Hillsdale Caltrain station is nearby for trips up and down the Peninsula.
