Canyon Redwood City Homes and Neighborhood Guide
Redwood City neighborhood guide
Canyon sits in the western hills around Canyon Road, roughly bounded by Alameda de las Pulgas, Edgewood Road, Cordilleras Road, Canyon Road and Harding Avenue. Oak Knoll Drive, which becomes Hopkins Avenue, climbs through the middle. Two Hetch Hetchy pipelines cross the area, leaving long open strips where building isn't allowed. A pocket of unincorporated county land along Hillcrest Drive, Oak Knoll Drive and Upland Road sits inside it.
Sequoia Hospital, which admitted its first patient in 1950, anchors the north side, with Dove Beeger Park across Whipple Avenue. The Emerald Hills Shopping Center at Canyon Road and Oak Knoll Drive has a cafe, pizza, sushi, a taqueria and Bonfare Market. The Canyon Inn, across the road, has operated since 1973 and is known for burgers and beer.
Canyon is shaded. Borders are approximate, see the Redwood City map for the full picture.

Homes and Streets
Canyon is overwhelmingly single family homes of varied sizes on hillside lots. Some date to the 1930s, and many older houses have been remodeled or replaced in recent years, so a 1935 cottage might sit near a house built in 2015. A few small apartment buildings cluster near the Emerald Hills Shopping Center along Canyon Road. Streets follow the hills, with real grades on Canyon Road and Oak Knoll Drive.
